Features:
1. High material strength and light weight
Steel has high strength and elasticity, and its density and yield strength are relatively low compared to concrete and wood. Therefore, under the same load conditions, the steel structure has a small cross-section, light weight, easy transportation and installation, and is suitable for large spans, high heights, and heavy loads.
2. Steel toughness, good plasticity, uniform material and high structural reliability
It can withstand impact and dynamic load, and has outstanding seismic performance. The internal structure of steel is uniform, close to isotropic homogeneous body. 4. Good sealing performance of steel structure

5. Steel structure is heat-resistant and not fire-resistant
 When the temperature is below 150 °C, the performance of the steel changes very little. Therefore, steel structures are suitable for high-temperature workshops, but when the surface of the structure is exposed to thermal radiation of about 150 °C, insulation boards should be used for protection. When the temperature is between 300 °C and 400 °C, the strength and elastic coefficient of the steel will significantly decrease. At a temperature of 600 °C, the hardness of steel is zero. In buildings with special fire protection requirements, steel structures must be protected with refractory materials to improve fire resistance.
6. Poor corrosion resistance of steel structure
Especially in humid and corrosive environments, it is easy to rust. Generally, steel structures should be rust removed, galvanized or painted, and regularly maintained. When constructing offshore platforms in seawater, special measures such as "zinc block anode protection"  should be taken to prevent corrosion.
7. Low carbon, energy saving, green and environmental protection, reusable

The demolition of steel structure buildings hardly produces construction waste, and the steel can be recycled and reused.

Compared with ordinary reinforced concrete structures, steel structures have the advantages of strong uniformity, fast construction speed, good seismic performance, and high recovery rate. From the perspective of damage, Steel structures have significant deformation precursors in advance and belong to ductile failure structures, which can be detected and avoided in advance.

Prefabrication of steel elements:
The prefabrication and assembly of steel structures are carried out on steel platforms in accordance with the installation sequence and process requirements, and welding quality must be ensured.
The distance between the sealing steel joint and the wall joint must be at least 200mm. The length of the flange plate connection must be less than twice the width of the plate. The width of the wall joint must be less than 300mm, and the length must be less than 600mm.
In order to facilitate welding and ensure welding quality, according to the size of the design drawings, butt welding was attempted on the steel floor platform, and butt welding of columns, steel reinforcement plates, connecting plates, loading plates, and beams was also attempted.
According to the design drawings and specifications, in addition to manufacturing and assembling prefabricated steel components on steel platforms, consideration should also be given to the manufacturability of on-site assembly and changes in installation dimensions.
