Glass Façade Stick Curtain Walling (SWC) system may be defined as non-load bearing walls, usually suspended in front of structural steel or concrete framing. The term "stick" refers to the factory-cut mullions and transoms which are transported to site as loose bars and sticks. However it is possible to assemble them into a ladder frame often referred to as "ladders" for quicker site assembly.
A stick built curtain wall refers to the method of construction by which glass façade curtain wall is assembled on site, piece by piece. The manufacturer delivers each individual component; glass, mullion, spandrel; and glaziers assemble the curtain wall directly on the structure.
The stick built system requires installation by highly skilled laborers on site, increasing the installation cost and causing some quality control issues. However, the on site installation allows for easier detailing of connections and larger tolerances in the building structure.
The advantage of a stick built system comes from its cost savings over a unitized system. On small project, the scale is too small to make it economical to prefabricate panels, so the added on-site time and cost is worth the higher unit cost associated with a small scale unitized system. For this reason, stick built systems are typically used on small to mid-sized projects.
HOW TO CHOOSE FROM STICK and UNITIZED CURTAINWALL SYSTEMS | ||
Selection Criteria | Stick Curtainwall | Unitized Curtainwall |
Project Size | Small | Large |
Wall Configuration |
Complex (Many changes in plane, e.g. soffits, corners, etc.) |
Repetitive (Large expanses of flat wall) |
Joint Pattern | Random | Uniform horizontal sill line |
Glazing | Field | Factory |
Inter-story Movements | Very limited | Inter-locking frames accommodate movements |
Quality Control |
Subject to site variables (Both environment and equipment) |
Controlled factory conditions |
Modification | Can be cut-to-fit in the field | Pre-engineered |
Sealing | Subject to site variables | Minimal field sealing |
Field Labor Cost |
High (Many parts to track and assemble) |
Low |
Field Labor Duration | Slow |
Fast (Often setting 75 sqft or more per unit) |
Access and Safety | Exterior access required |
Set from the interior (Exterior optional) |
our stick system façades are the flexible, tried-and-tested versatile solutions among the range of façade systems. The wide range of profiles and the extensive equipment options offer you optimum creative freedom. The state-of-the-art technology ensures the highest level of process security, from the planning stage through to completion. With narrow face widths of 50 and 60 mm, the system construction lends façades a particularly filigree appearance. Additional functions for security and maximum thermal insulation may be included simply and inexpensively, without compromising on aesthetics.

After installing the triple silver Low-E hollow, the comfort of the human body can be improved. Since the human body's burning sensation is caused by solar radiation near infrared, the higher the gIR, the higher the infrared transmission, the lower the gIR, and the lower the infrared transmission. The infrared transmission gIR of Sanyin can be below 0.06, which means it is reflected off. Most of the heat, the burning sensation has been significantly improved, it is very suitable for use in hot areas, and the comfort level is greatly improved.
General Low-E glass only contains a pure silver layer (functional layer), the so-called single-silver Low-E glass.
The total number of layers of double silver glass reaches more than 9 layers, including two pure silver layers;
Three silver Low-E glass contains a total of more than 13 layers, including three pure silver layers.
Compared with single-silver Low-E glass, although double and triple-silver Low-E glass has higher processing technology requirements, its energy saving performance is much better than single-silver Low-E glass.
Function
Optical parameters: Under the premise of the same light transmittance, double silver and triple silver Low-E have lower shading coefficient Sc and heat transfer coefficient U,
Double-silver and triple-silver Low-E glass can block more solar radiation heat than single-silver Low-E glass, and filter sunlight into a cold light source to a greater extent.
Indoor comfort: Low-E glass can greatly reduce the heat exchange between indoor and outdoor environments through the glass, so when the air conditioner is cooling or heating, after the indoor temperature reaches the set temperature, the air conditioner can stay on standby for a longer time Status, thereby saving power consumption.
Not only that, the shading characteristics of Low-E glass greatly reduce the time of using curtains to shade, thereby improving indoor light comfort and creating a more transparent and beautiful indoor environment.
To make a simple analogy, in summer, a building with ordinary glass originally required air-conditioning and cooling for an effective operating time of 100 days. After using single-silver Low-E glass, the effective operating time for cooling required was shortened to 35 days, and if double-silver was used Or three silver Low-E glass, it only takes about 30 days or less, further saving electricity bills.
In the long run, although the use of double and triple silver Low-E glass increases a small amount of project construction costs, it greatly reduces the energy consumption during the use of the building, and the later energy saving can recover the investment in a short time. The cost of the increase.
